I’m in San Antonio, TX and recently bought an entire ‘96 K2500 ‘Burban to replace my destroyed ‘98 K2500 Silverado dash. Title was from CO so that’s probably what saved the dash from getting brittle and cracking. Removed without breaking.

Paid $350 for the whole ‘burb minus engine. Robbed a ton of other stuff I needed like the FF 14 bolt, side mirrors, hydro boost, etc. Sold the chassis/carcass for $120. Sold the trans and t-case for $300. When it was all said and done, I made out like a bandit in my opinion.

Not sure where you are located, but I have 2 crack free dashes here in central NJ that I'd be willing to part with. 1 is grey out of a 98 Tahoe and the other is blue from a 97 Silverado.both in really good shape, not faded or brittle at all, defrost vents & mounting holes intact...I just chucked a slightly faded grey dash that I planned to wrap in leather.the lack of room and abundance of other projects won though and it got tossed.

Not trying to step on any toes or skip a place in line, but if no one wants that crack free grey '98 dash I'm very interested. Unfortunately I'm halfway across the country in MO. Any chance you'd be willing to ship it if I paid the costs?

First come first dashed...but in reality it would probably be realllly expensive to ship it. The box would be huge and I would pack it as if it were made out of glass. The front part by the vin/defrost vents is quite flimsy and I would worry about it breaking while ace Ventura: delivery guy body slams the box onto the truck. But ill try to get it weighed and get a rough box dimension for you to get a shipping quote.
The dash in the limited was fubar when I got the truck so I picked one up from a boneyard in Iowa city a few years ago when I was still a friendly midwesterner. Think it cost me $250 and they pulled it. Decent shape, blue(didn't care cause it was getting painted black).diligent searching at some local yards might be your most cost effective option.
Also, If you pull the entire donor dash and leave the hvac ducting and wiring harness attached it helps keep the whole assembly more rigid during the transport/cleaning/ maybe painting process.
Also also, you should get the dash saver/anti rattle clips if you are pulling the dash(or if your dash still has intact defrost mounting holes and you want to keep it that way) they are cheap and work quite well. I have gotten them from a guy on eBay named walkingj I think.his are USA made(Idaho Idathink) and usually include a nifty sticker for your shop fridge and an atomic fireball or dumdum(clearly the selling point)

I was prepared to pay freight shipping on a 454SS rear axle a few months back so I'm no stranger to expensive shipping. What you said about the fragile nature of the dash and how you would pack it is reassuring, to be honest. If Dre319 wants it then I'm not going to mess that up for him, but if it falls through for whatever reason I'd definitely appreciate the estimate to ship it to me. Thanks!

And yeah I already have the dash saver clips on both of my '97s, they definitely do seem to help. I got mine from LMC but they're exactly the same as the WalkingJ ones.
