Has anyone used these housings for the quad headlights?

I've been around cars for a long long time. I restored a Corvair at 19 years old, I love cars as a hobby and fixing them for other people has paid the bills the last 30+ years. I have no issue with learning something and I always want to make sure I understand what I'm modifying. This guys response was almost literally those suck don't do it. No science or theory on why they suck. I appreciate the fact he took the time to respond, but the way I came up if it sucks there should be some demonstrable facts involved. The response I got from him seemed more emotional then anything.

In a perfect world I'll come across the Bosch stuff. There was a guy on eBay that sold 200 of those low beams in January I just missed out on. If I'm ready to jump and haven't come across some of those I'll likely go with the LMC stuff. No way I'm going to change the whole look of my truck and go with a WT grill to accommodate different headlights.

Have that old eBay link?

I got 2 sets of quad headlights. I am going to rebuild one set for my truck probably using pieces from both sets. The guy who had these 2 trucks made me a good offer so i bought both sets. Heres the wierd thing one set has the screws for the retainer for both high and low sealed beams located on the inner ends towards the middle of the assembly. You cannot remove the low beam this way.

The other set i have has these screws on the outer ends and you can replace the bulbs fairly easily. I was looking at the mounting buckets and believe i can swap them to have the screws on the outer ends to make the low beam removal easier.

The other thing was the torx screws with the raised *** in the middle. Where can i get a torx screwdriver with a hole in the middle besides a dang tool truck. I want to get these apart, sandblast the lamp housings and repaint everything.

Thanks. That set on amazon looks like it will just about do it all. Even has Boeing Tri wing bits. I am suprised it also has torq set bits. (Offset phillips looking bit)I used those on SAAB 340 aircraft, and on Embraer 145 regional jets.

Got same bit set that was offered on amazon thru harbor freight. Was $7.95 i think plus 20% off coupon. Cleaned, freed up, and greased the adjustors that came with my lights. Everything was frozen up. Works great now.

Guys I put LED bulbs on my low beam lights 1993 GMC truck and I left the high beam with the old bulbs well now when I turn on my high beams it’s like I can’t believe I was driving so many years without LED bulbs they rock.

My little resto project is coming along. Its hard to believe that they started off as crappy as the one set i havent restored yet. Ended up not needing 2 sets to make one good set. I just used Wagner halogen sealed beams. Rockauto. Will probably restore the second set, and sell them. Buckets and headlamp bezel rings were sandblasted and epoxy primered then the buckets were painted. The bezel rings i still need to scuff and apply semigloss black. Its been a nice little project so far. I got more pix of the progress on these on my 94 silverado build thread in member trucks.
