My brother is selling his Suburban. If he was on the right side of the country I would buy it.

1998 1500
5.7L
4X4 Manual Shift
No rust! (It spent most of it's life in Nevada)
250K on the odo, engine has about 150 on it
3rd row seat
It is located in Virginia

I don't know much more about it. It does have lots of little TLC items that need attention.
PM if interested and I'll share his contact info with you.

When do you pick it up?

2 Days ago :D, My brother and I left Erie, Pa at 4:15 Pm Friday and drove South to Summersville, WV. and spent the night. We got up Saturday morning and headed down to your brothers house and got there around noon. My brother and I installed a new set of wheels and tires that we brought with us( LT245/75R-16 10 ply on factory alloy wheels) .Your brother and I made the deal, signed zee papers and then he showed us the way to a local auto salvage yard.

We spent an hour or so checking out the yard and bought a set of like new factory alloy's for a fair price and made a deal with the owner to head back down and pick up some more parts. I missed a heck of a deal, some one had a beautiful mid 90's Suburban very clean, zero rust, no dents and excellent paint with reasonable mileage for the age that he could not find a buyer for so he drove there and sold it for scrap! I bought the wheels off of it and the tires have decent tread on them. What a waste!!

We left the yard at 2:00 PM Saturday and drove back to Erie and got in about 12 AM. Around 900 miles total trip. The Beastie is a land yacht :Big Laugh: I forgot how big and heavy a Suburban is.

That's awesome! I'm glad it went to a good home. I don't know if he gave you any history on it. He bought it from a doctor here in Nevada 6-7 years ago. I'm not sure if she was the first owner, but had to be close to it. She took immaculate care of it for years. I admired that Suburban for a long time before he bought it. I look forward to seeing what your plans are for it.

It's always sad to see a nice piece of iron end up in the scrap yard. My '99 is a rescue project. I was loading it on the trailer as the salvage yard tow truck showed up to collect it. If they hadn't been 3 days late picking it up, I wouldn't have it now. Your Suburban has quiet a few parts from the donor '97 in my back yard, so it's no stranger to sharing parts.
