My headlights housings were very yellow on my 1998 Silverado... I wet sanded them with 800, then 1500, then 2000 sandpaper..then polished them with cutting compound, then swirl remover and then show car glaze..Took about 5 minutes for each step. They look like brand new now.

I did the taillights the same way and they came out amazing also.

Just buy some glass spyder housings and stick with a 9006 bulb, they're brighter than you think once you have good housings. Much better option than blinding everyone with ****** LEDs in a halogen reflector.

I´ve upgraded my headlights since I bought my suburban, and I am VERY happy with them now.

First off, a new headlight housing from eBay. Not the cheapest one, not the most expensive one. Looks nice, didn't´t help much on the lighting output.

Then I made my own headlight harness. I used 4,5mm2 cable (that would be between 10 and 12 awg, like 10,5or something) straight from the battery to the headlights, and from the headlights to the closest ground connection on each side. It blew my head off! I am SO happy with them, I giggle overtime I drive my car in the darkness!

While doing the headlight cables I also did the HIR swap to 9011/9012 bulbs. I only had a set for the low lights when I did the wiring, so I swapped the hi-beams later and I could barely notice the difference. Upgrading the wiring harness does everything! :)

Im doing that right now.
I found some silverstars at the junkyard and they are a bit better. Whiter light for sure. But i clipped some headlight plugs as long as possible and ill probably just use one relay and wire taps on the relay supply to coil. Then ive got some 12ga wire among other stuff. Ill solder most of everything and heat shrink it. Ham radio is my hobby so i fix and repair radios so i should have most anything i need.

Heres a few more the first picture is with one silver star and a regular bulb then the other pictures are both Silver Stars versus the original high beams
I'm building my harness right now so these pictures are just on the original harness I imagine the voltage drop is pretty big with the factory harness in fact I might actually go out there and measure it to see how many volts are dropping across the whole entire harness

Hah, then you are doing a better job than I did! :) I used to be an electrician, so when I´ve crimped I can´t be bothered to solder, heat shrink with glue it is and done with it! :D

Those silver stars looks good, I´m sure they will be amazing with the new harness! :)

We shall see. I may need to upgrade the ground though for now I'm grounding it right down below near the trim where it screws into the metal I'm almost done I got to hurry up before the snow starts flying here
I was going to use the big old soldering gun but decided to just make quick work of it with the torch
And I had this 20 amp fuse holder harness off of something else and you're going to laugh but I'm going to use a Ford relay because that's what I got laying around I believe it's a 30amp
