looks to be coming along, keep up the progress
Thanks!
One of the best things I did when I had my 92 was to go from the goofy metal mirrors to the newer style plastic ones. Don't use the junky aftermarket ones from the parts store, the mirror surface was plastic or something, it wasn't quite right, but still better visibility and it looked better cosmetically.
Definitely sticking with the newer style mirrors :)

This week I installed new Depo turn signals and a new-to-me air dam. I wish I had done the latter sooner as I had it in the garage for months. This just looks so much more complete and the approach angle is still better than departure. Won't hurt the fuel economy either haha

Just got my truck back from the shop with a new slave cylinder and clutch.
The front driveshaft was in the bed because it was seized up and the shop didn't want to reinstall it and risk being responsible for damage down the road.

I put some work into getting it unstuck, got it reinstalled, but then I started questioning. Which direction does the driveshaft go, or does it matter? I put it in with the slip joint at the front.

This place seems pretty quiet but I have another question I'll fire into the abyss.

305 vortec been stumbling / misfiring a lot, especially in 4th and 5th gear getting onto the highway or lately, even just maintaining highway speed. It has happened a few times in lower gears as well, going up steep hills. There's a direct correlation with engine load. And it's getting worse. But it ONLY happens when the engine is warmed up. When cold, everything seems fine.

So probably an ignition problem? I've replaced the cap and rotor already as they were in bad shape. There was no change, except since then I've seen the check engine light at idle after startup, twice. My OBD2 scanner finds no codes.

The internet presents a daunting list of possibilities to look at. On the to-do list next is to inspect plugs to see if it's a specific cylinder acting up... take a look at the wires as well of course. Next I'll pull the distributor because I've heard the gear on it can crack. Any other ideas?

You might be at the right age (mileage) for a fuel pump issue unless it has already had one replaced. Fuel pressure test might be in order. If that is what it is then you have the genuine PITA of replacing it.

You're awesome.
I had kind of ruled out fuel issues based on the symptom only showing up when engine was warm, but I was wrong. I tested fuel pressure this afternoon and got 50, maybe 51 PSI.
So I'm guessing a worn out fuel pump works better cool than warm.

A lucky guess. Are you going to detach the bed or cut an access port to replace the pump. Not fun either way. I have fortunately never had to do it as mine was replaced before I bought it. Good luck and let us know how it all comes out.

EDIT After posting this I happened to see this thread which sounds somewhat like your issue and got a different answer. Check it out:

I'm going to probably let a mechanic deal with it (both a proper diagnosis by someone more experienced, just in case, and the labor). Need to get this thing running right ASAP and a driveway fuel pump job in winter sounds awful!

Took her to a mechanic for diagnosis. He said the fuel pressure was fine and I should start by changing plugs and wires, so I did. Truck seems to be running great now, but the plugs have me uneasy.

They all are obviously worn out and needed replacing, but are they telling me anything more than that? Bottom of picture is front of engine. #2 is discolored. #3 and 5 have a lot of deposits. #6 is oily on the threads.
