That old radiator you removed looks like a copper/brass unit. I have never seen that type in one of these trucks. Always seen aluminum/plastic. I wonder if that was an aftermarket one. I like the copper/brass ones those are easy to fix when they leak.

Are you interested in selling that one you removed along with the tube end that came off it.

Putting more miles on the truck and updating as I go. Got the roof and passengers door paint issues taken care of, left the rest in it's well used "patina" state. Replaced the window motors/regulators and lock actuators. Shots from work :)

Just read through your build thread. Really enjoyed it. Envious of your frame, looks nothing like a New England frame.

Thanks! Yeah, I only had to deal with layers of desert dirt. Much better than rust :D

“Tuning” up the old truck. Added a pair of door speakers to mix this week, along with chasing down a brake light issue.

I went with shallow mount speakers and small enclosures to keep them in the door panels. These added a much need mid-range fill. The complete system includes Kicker factory replacements (dash & b-pillar), a Phoenix Gold 8” Slim active bass enclosure under the passengers seat, and now the Pioneer 5-1/4" in the door panels. The head unit is a Sony XAV-AX1000.

I had a productive weekend. Installed Pace Edwards PowerGate Tailgate Lock. For those not familiar, this adds a door lock actuator to the tailgate handle, so now my handle locks with my doors. I plan to add a tonneau cover in the near future, and this will allow me to lock up stuff in the bed.

Second project of the weekend was installing direct power window relays. The kit I used was made for older squarebody C10s, but was very easily adapted for my truck.

The kit was from LMC Truck (36-3579) in the 73-87 catalog. The wiring is straight forward. I spliced into the harness directly above the window motors.

The results are outstanding. Noticeable speed difference and no more slow passengers window and 'brownouts" when rolling up both windows at the same time.

Our trucks provide a nice place to access and mount the relays near the window motors. Here's some pictures of what I did:
