Depends on which one you get. Summit offers two different 8.2L 502 engines. One is meant for Pre-76 trucks, which means your intake won't swap over. The other one is a massive $8k, but it might work. I'd email Chevrolet or Summit directly and ask them about it.

Probably something that's already been mentioned to you, but for $8k you could have a seriously worked over 6.0L LS engine that should blow that 502 out of the water. Just food for thought.

Do you have a link to the engine you're looking at? Does it have heads/intake on it or just a short block?

As long as its gen 6 you should be able to throw you intake on it, probably timing cover with crank reluctor wheel too. It would start to be a lot of work, but using a different intake would probably help out power potential.

Depending on goals/usage rebuilding what you have may be the better option. As nightrunner asked, what are your goals?

I would just like a little more power . I use it to pull a 24 foot tri toon boat . Pulls fine , I’d just like to have a fresh motor and a little more power . I’ve just always wanted a 502 in something lol . But a rebuilt 454 is fine too

Why won't his intake swap over? Heads need specific gaskets to swap between Mk4 and Gen VI, but I've never heard of any intake problems outside of tall deck stuff.

Disclaimer: I've never built a BBC, so I have no direct experience, but I've owned my truck since 99, so I've picked up things here and there along the way...I've heard of people running the Vortec 454 intake on older big blocks, but maybe there are details that I'm unaware of?
