I havn't read trough the whole thread but want to add these handles also come on 3500 HD models also. I got mine from a 1999 HD rods and all. Most people don't notice the handles but people that own these trucks love the way they work compared to stock lift handles. I searched local yards for a few months looking for Kodiac or Topkicks only to notice the 3500 hd my brother has for a bait cooler for his fishing business had the handles. That truck hasn't run for years.

I swapped out my handles for his. Free is good.

The u-pull-its by me have a few 3500 hd but the handles are always busted or wore out looking but at least they are a source of required rods

Will these handles fit into the door of a 97 gmt400 with no mods to the door hole? No cutting, etc., to the door? Also can they be installed on the back doors of a four-door pickup?

They bolt right in. Rear doors most folks don’t hook up the lock rods to the key hole..but should work just fine if you have them.

I’ve got a few sets currently.

Hope this thread it is not dead, I went to a local store here in Mexico and they have some kodiak door handles, the price is 150 dollars with all the instalation and parts required, but the handle is bigger, it is like 2cm larger and they need to cut the door, there are several types of kodiak handles? I want to avoid cutting, thanks

Gonna bump a couple of these threads back from the dead with a question:

Any of you guys who have done this mod know if you can just fan up the rods required for these handles?

They look like they are NLA parts. Handles are readily available but not the oem rods.

Wondering how hard it would be to just intuit. Otherwise would have to source some dimensions on the oem ones to figure how to fab some up.

Any input on that appreciated.

There's no cutting of the door. The handles are direct install pieces. They just overlap the opening a small amount; this is the way they are designed. There is no difference in the handle opening on the Kodiak/Topkick/3500HD doors vs. regular 1500/2500/3500 doors.

Just popping in here to say that the stock rod from handle to latch can be easily modified to work with the kodiak handles.

I just put some in today on my k2500.

The lock rod from tumbler to latch mechanism on the other hand is not easily modified and will require bending a whole new rod.

So currently I'm just running the handle with no manual lock. Fob/power lock only and some blank plugs on the lock holes.

Just for posterity.
