Want to install these at the front air dam openings of my bumper.. easy way just wire them up to my existing lights. Question is is it safe? Enough power?

That’s what I did with mine. Just spliced into the high beams and installed an inline fuse. Have that done along with the 4 hi mod and no problems.

That's what I did with my bumper lights on my 98. Spliced some cheap ass driving lights into the low beams, I did not use an inline fuse as I have the heavy duty headlight kit.

i just answered a post pertaining to this.....
the fogs go off when the high beams turn on,the switch turns on some kind of relay and when you shut the truck off you have to turn the fogs back on every time you want them i think the operation is kinda strange that way they don't stay on for the next time you turn on you headlights.i'm not a stickler for totally stock but i like things to be close. if i was going to add stock looking fogs i would do it all stock looking except for the switch.you could wire up power to a switch when the low beams are on then the switch can turn the fogs on with a relay. if you do a after market switch just feed it from the low beam headlight power wire coming off the switch going to the headlight itself they will only work with the lows then or if you want them to work with the high beams and lows feed the toggle switch with the wire giving power to the cluster lights then you could use the fogs with and without any headlights.the only real difference from stock would be they would always be on when you turn on the low beams if you leave the fog light switch on.
a few switch ideas

You can use an oem switch ( I have a few spares if anyone wants some). Instead of getting a feed from the low beams, just grab the power supply from a keyed on source. This way you only have to turn the button on once when you need it. I’m sure there’s a way you could also diode two different feed sources from low and high beam as well.

Can you wire aftermarket fog lights to the oem switch? Anyone have a link to info on how to do this?
