I've had the black one more than 16 years. 2nd. owner. Stock & original when I bought it.
It's all in pieces though. Has been for a few years.
No front clip, no engine/trans, no interior, box is off. Sitting on jackstands in front of the shop. Walk past it probably 20x a day.
Front suspension's been done 3x, rear 5x, over the years. Very few parts left from the original kit. Mostly custom fabbed. Doing more suspension mods too! Again! (It's a disease.) Thinking of dropping down to 5/8.
W-h-e-n it's rolling under it's own power, it'll be an LS/4L80e. 6L80e if I can find one at a decent price. But I'm in Canada. Fewer opportunities to find those here. Has 3.73's with an Eaton posi & Moser axles. Was 3.42/Gov-bomb.
The interior will be all re-upholstered too. I did it 15 years ago & it's tired.

Man that thing looks A1 my man, I wish I had your fabbing skills..so was that notch made from scratch? or did you start with a kit and boxed in the frame after? Also what vehicle does that reupholstered console come out of?

Man, ole blue is my favorite truck on this site. I think it has the best wheel/drop setup. I say that knowing all of the hell that you have had with the lowering. Lol.

The frame was originally cut like that for the bolt-in notch. When we took that out, we made the backside plate to match the cut portion, welded that in, then bent up that U-shaped plate to tie the two together.
I'm an upholstery guy, but I spent a lot of time in the metal shop at school. The fab skills for upholstering transfer over, though. I can cut steel, but my welds are ugly! I cut out all the stuff for the frame & buddy welded that in. I did the welding on the box's cross member notch. That didn't have to be done, but I did it just for the welding experience. I did more grinding on those welds than I had to on all the rest of buddy's that he did on the frame!
The console is from a '99/'00 Escalade.
