Alright guys. So let me start out by saying I'm an idiot & this is best left to professionals.

I've never rebuilt a transmission before. I decided to rebuild mine & install a Transgo HD2 kit at the same time. Well, theres a step in there which says to drill a hole with a 3/64 bit to bleed pressure in the pump. Well, I drilled it with a 3/32 only realizing my mistake afterwards. So now I have a problem.

I called Transgo & they said to take aluminum rod, chamfer it, then pound it in. Which I did. I flared the ends as much as possible as well as I coated the rod in red loctite before install in hopes of keeping it there.

I'm worried that this isn't enough to fix this. The aluminum is really malleable. I can cut it with a razor blade. Maybe instead of the rod, I should jb weld the hole? Or maybe another sort of epoxy? Can this be welded possibly? It's in a really tight spot. I want to try to salvage this if possible. I already put the new bushings in & new seals, etc.

Thoughts?

P.S. What is the pump made out of? What material is it?

Can you take a center punch and "stake" the pin you put in? Tap the hole and thread a setscrew in and re-drill the correct size orfice?

I tried. Problem is it's at such an awkward angle. I was being lazy. I have another pump/stator from another transmission but I already pressed bearings & put new boost valves & such in this one. Just didn't want to do it again. However, that's a for sure fix & I'd rather spend a couple more hours doing that than trying to bandaid this one. Thanks for the advice though.

For anyone looking at doing the HD2 kit or rebuilding a trans in general. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS & DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING. I've had to disassemble & reassemble the trans so many times to double check I did everything right it's not even funny. Anyways, thanks for the help guys.
