I understand that, I was replying to the guy who was excited about paying "only 50 bucks" for the handles.
I made a set of wire bending dies to make the rods and laser cut the pawls for myself ...but I am in New Zealand so I am bugger all use to anybody in the USA.

A lot of times those part # aggregator sites aren't showing you places that actually stock the items. You go to try to purchase and can't get stock. It's worth trying, though! Just be ready for the potential let-down.

Those look awesome! Two years huh? I'm going to attempt to paint and install a set of these coming up. Any details you care to share on the paint prep and paint you used would be great. Thanks!

I sanded them with 220 then a couple light coats of primer sand with 400 and scotch bright pad then painted with basecoat clearcoat.
Mine were used and the original finish was peeling and they were quite moldy from sitting in a shady wooded area.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I have since decided to not paint and take the easy route. Have some new ones coming from RockAuto. Just as well though, since I would have just rattle canned em! Lol

They have handles..not lock pawls or rods. They are very different on the kodiak handles and can be difficult to obtain.
I could be interested in your home-made pawls and rods... if we're several competing for them, would it help my case to let you know they'll be used on a close relative to your truck, namely my 1995 K1500 Z71 6.5TD short box...? :)

I’ve got one guy ahead of you. These aren’t homemade pawls or rods-oem.

That said..I have made one set of rods...for a good friend...I don’t see myself making them again. Pawls will require cnc or good machining.
