I have a 1998 k1500 5.7 vortec. I had the P0440 evap code occur a few months ago and Ive been trying to fix it ofcourse. So far nothing has worked and it comes back on within a couple days of clearing the code.

All Ive Replaced:
Gas cap
Evap solenoid
Purge valve
Fuel pump
Precat O2 sensors
Iac valve
Egr
Mpfi injector conversion
Pcv valve

Im sure theres more and not all of it was replaced due to the code, just most of what ive replaced since owning the truck in my attempt to fix the rough/shuddering idle. Ive checked forums and sites and i cant seem to find anything more to try and fix the issue.

Thanks for any help or input.

Thank you ill read through it and give it a shot.

On the fuel pump there are 3 lines connecting to it. The middle one is the only one left with the "quick dis/connect" fitting because the other 2 broke so I cut them off and used hose clamps.

Can anyone tell me what the middle hose is for? I believe it was smaller than the other 2.

You don't have three hoses on the PUMP. You might have three hoses on the Pump Module (hanger assembly).

One pressure, one return, probably one for the vent system--charcoal canister.

Trace the hose, see where it goes.
