What junkyard is that? I need somewhere new to poke around for parts I don't need

Looking forward to seeing more updates on this!
I might ask for some help with an 0411 swap on my truck sometime soon if I ever make up my mind, if you'd be willing to help that is;
109-u-pull-it in winston salem. It's a pretty nice place! And I would be willing to help with the swap!

Changed the oil today in the burb, she's really leaking some oil from the rear main seal that's only a year old. Just another reason I'm LS swapping. Dad's 4.8 with 220k miles doesn't leak a drop.

On the engine, I finally got it sitting in the shop on an engine stand ready to be cleaned up and prepped for the install. I'll be putting it in stock for now with long tube headers.

The eventual plans are to run a Texas Speed stage 2 truck cam (212/218 .550"/.550" 111 lsa), ported and polished 243 heads, ls6 springs, and maybe a Trailblazer SS intake. Nothing to crazy, just a fun daily driver. Of course a 4l80e and 14 bolt sf swap are on the list as well.

Are you going to re-gasket it before stabbing it in?

I'll probably only do the intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, and water pump. The engine had no sign of leaking oil from anywhere at all.

I've got a Isky 212 218 .561 .566 114 In a stock LQ4 and love it.

I'd go ahead and put a better spring in it tho. Your getting close the the limit of the LS6 spring. I used Isky 165A which is the same as the PAC1218. Put over 240k miles on my first set of isky 165A springs with no issues.

Those of you who have done an ls swap using your stock vortec harness, what's involved for going from distributor to coil per cylinder?

I got some things accomplished on my engine today; removed the ac bracket, engine mounts, and egr system, and cleaned it up some. I still have more cleaning to do but I have the valve covers, valley cover, heads, and timing cover pretty good. Still have to clean up the intake, coil brackets, block, and oil pan good, and then prep the block and valve covers for paint.

My dirty dingo mounts and egr blockoff came in the mail today, very impressed with the quality of the mounts. I need to order an oil cooler blockoff plate since I'm not hooking it up.

I removed, cleaned, and painted the valve covers tonight with duplicolor engine enamel. Very happy with the results! Need to get the block cleaned up and ready to paint so I can start installing my accessories.

LS6 had .550" lift stock so LS6 springs are absolutely fine for his proposed Texas Speed cam.
