That clear stuff is great for helping keepimg uv rays out. But be careful the clear stuff is harder to install as you cant hardly see any issues till to late.

Thanks, I think I’d rather pay someone to do it right the first time. A local shop quoted me $150 to do the windshield with it...not sure if it’s a good price or not, but my a/c needs all the help it can get in the summer.

If thats all windows with clear on windshield thats a good price. Keep in mind the clear only blocks uvs and does help with heat but not much.

Ceramic tint is pretty expensive, it's light shades and blocks like "99%" of UV rays and offers heat reduction. A lot of people use it that way they don't lose clarity like you do with a "black" film.
Around here with a standard film most shops quote a minimum of $100 to do a windshield. My guy did mine for like $50.
Depends on what shops use on what they charge, they can use anything you ask them to.

I got a quote for $280 for my extended cab; 80% with a 5% brow on the windshield, 35% on driver and passenger doors, and 24% on my ext cab glass and back window.
It's a mobile tint service, and they offer a life-time warranty to replace the tint if it's damaged or whatever.
Personally I think it'd be easier to just take it somewhere, I'd love to learn how to tint windows in vehicles but after removing the tint in my father's 99 C3500, I realized it's an absolute pain in the ass to remove a good quality tint job, I can only imagine how big of a pain it is to install.

The easy way to remove tint no matter how long it has been on: Formula 409. Spray it heavy on the tint, cover with a black trash bag, wait 30 minutes, peal it all off. It works best on a nice sunny day. That will take the glue and all right off, zero leftovers to have to scrape off.

For those who have tinted there windows, how do you deal with those little black dots that now make up the outside of most windows? I was going to do mine but only one shop locally has the good tint..
