Damn that’s awesome! I just have crappy liability since it’s a $1800 truck lol
We learned the hard way on PIP & Liability on a Jeep we had ! We carry comp & collision on everything now. Was the same for me they replaced my windshield 0 deduct, but trust me we could have payed for that windshield several times over for what we pay for insurance yearly. Florida has a surprising amount of people on the road with NO coverage, so people that think the other guys insurance will pay can really get reamed here. We did !

I'm willing to wager that is already an aftermarket windshield and the previous installer exposed bare metal before putting it on. What you're seeing is the result of corrosion pushing up on the windshield and causing a crack.

I had a '94 Grand Am which did exactly this. A few more years later and I could see the rust blistering into the painted area.

I also have uninsured motorist for that very reason. It costs more, and I have never used it, but there is always that one time.....

Once on a cold winter morning after turning on the heat to the windshield, I watched a bullseye blossom into a crack and make its way from one side to the other. It took about half an hour in slow motion.
