Gunk in taillight sockets

This is probly the first time
In 10 yrs they been changed.. but there all gunked up. I pulled the bulbs out but its almost peanut buttery in there. How can i get it all out

Degreaser? Brake Cleaner? Mineral spirits? It's just some kind of dielectric grease. I've got a tube of dielectric grease I bought at the parts store a long time ago that I use on connectors... it's probably a Permatex product.

I was hoping thats all it was. Just didnt wana go blastin away at it or if it was too far gone & just get another one .

What arethe bulb sizes ? This truck was left to me by my pawpaw so slowly gettin it back to time

Use a hair dryer to soften it up. It’s likely old bulb grease. I had one board so caked that it glued the bulb in. I busted the bulb pulling it out.

mine were so bad (like z71Hobbs0, the bulbs kept pulling out of the bases... I said ef it and bought new boards. That stuff was thick!

There is a good product called DeOxit that is used to clean volume controls on old radios. It works pretty well and would probably work for this . Spray, insert bulb, wiggle, rinse and repeat. Worth a try.
