Update it lost 4th again I'm just going to pull it out put a new band in, and my other corvette servo and hope that works maybe even go for the 8 clutch stack up with the springs and see id that makes a dofference because im stumpped ive adjusted the tv cable countless times and 4th came back and then left a few miles later all I can think of is my band is not holding

Update: I took the trans out again and replacrd the band checked all clutch clearances and check ball locations and everything is in spec and where it needs to be, I even rebuild my pump and installed another corvette servo. Still not getting into 4th gear but when i downshift into D out of OD iy acts like ita downshifting idk whats going on here but if pulled it out and inspected it multiple times and I'm at a complete loss here

When you did your rebuild did you do anything to the valve body or just reinstall it. sounds like you have two problems. Late 1-2 shift could be a stuck TV piston. No forth gear could be a stuck 3-4 shift piston. If you have second gear there is nothing wrong with the band because it uses second gear band for forth gear. The "downshifting" you feel when going from OD to D is the torque converter "un-locking"

I bet if you drop the VB and do a good cleaning and make sure everything is free you'll be good.
