I've purchased a rebuild kit too, just synchros, bearings and gaskets etc as I figure I don't want to be doing it later and easier now while I have it apart anyway. Now all I need is time - the hardest commodity for me to obtain!

So the programmed ECM arrived and can't wait to get started with the conversion - I should have all the pieces to the puzzle now! I'd like to swap it over and turn the engine over just to hear the difference, but wondering if it would cause any issues with having an auto hooked up even if not driven?

You shouldn’t, probably just have a check engine light? Maybe. I ran a 96 that was standard with an ECM with an auto and it threw every code for the trans lol

A really long puller. I managed to use the smaller pullers I have by cutting down the mainshaft (it's getting swapped out with a 2wd version anyway). I might need a puller again but not sure
