Hi guys, I'm considering replacing the OEM intake on my 305/5.0l L31 fuel injection spyder with the Edelbrock Super Victor 29135 intake and fuel rails, Has anyone done this before and how did it perform afterwards? Thanks

Your thinking of replacing your stock vortec injection with a aftermarket unit ?
That's a good idea .but I think that a super Victor is too much intake for a stock motor

Definitely too much intake. You want a dual plane for anything driven on the street and stock cam. Single planes don't like to idle low and place emphasis on upper RPM power.

The idle is not an issue on a fuel injected engine.

Any recommended part manufactures names or numbers, it's a 97" 305/5.0l stock. I just want to get rid of the internal fuel injection and have external fuel rails/injectors. I would like to get rid of the internal pressure regulator and use an external filter regulator set up. Thanks in advance!!!

L30/L31 Marine intake gets my vote. Then again the stock intake is not a restriction to a naturally aspirated 305.

That would be my choice too, but with one thing to consider. A 305 seems like a waste of effort, to me. Unless it's a matter of wanting to keep a much loved truck mostly stock, but with a few annoyances/peculiarities fixed. Even though, I think the spider injection is weird/goofy I would probably just keep it maintained and running well if I didn't have aspirations of a high performance engine, especially if it's a daily driver.

A 305 can run really well and I have made decent power out of a few of them but you cannot beat cubic inches. I pull the 305 out of my Tahoe for an 8.1.
