Time for a new motor

I have the atk stage 2. 354hp. 401ftlb. Has about 30k on it. Was in the truck when I got it. No issues. I put the fitech on it and she runs solid. Still get 17" vacuum at idle. Plenty of power in this truck for a daily driver

I also had an ATK engine. I only had it for the first 15,000 miles but it ran great. No issues. Was a Vortec crate engine with a carb intake and an HEI dist.

I've been considering the ATK HP74. Seems like a good option for slight performance upgrade and remains plug/play. My understanding is that the cam is the only difference between it and stock. Take it for what it's worth but... They claim that the HP line from ATK is assembled by hand separately from their assembly line engines.

They come with a dyno sheet for each engine they build. I'm very happy with mine

I did not know that, great info. Glad to hear you're happy with yours, you are the first person that I have heard from that owns one. I'm always surprised it's not a more popular option. Did you have a tune done? Did you do any other power upgrades?

It was in my truck when i bought it. I know its the vortec 350 stage 2. The stage is just what it comes with. I cant remember the cam specs but its on their site. It was the $2900 motor. No i did not tune it yet. Just got power train done and now im driving it. Im starting to fine tune my fitech. See what i can get out of it.
Atk has been around for a while, i think just this forum people havent ised them.

I put a Blueprint 383 crate engine in to replace the old tired 350. It runs very well and I think was a good price for what it is. 287 hp / 407 tq on the dyno sheet with a tuned TBI system. It's getting a Fitech throttle body and HEI ignition system right now. When it's running, the truck will be for sale too.

Father-in-law talked me in to going in half on a 2014 RZR and I have a 1997 K3500 too so I don’t need two trucks.
