Just wanted to throw a post out there and see if anyone's done an under seat powered sub in their GMT400. I'm debating doing it because I don't want to take up a ton of the room in my extended cab area and have always wanted a bit of a stealth sub setup as well to be honest.

Anyone done this? Post some pics and part numbers, I'm curious!

10" slim-line sub with 600w thrown at it.
Mounted in the box so that it goes under the driver side.
Lined with FatMat & filled with polyester fleece.
Sounds like ****. Nowhere even close to my other truck's 10" DVC sub, also with 600w but wired in @ 2ohms, (so that's around 1000w-1200w) and in a properly designed box.
Being under the seat doesn't help the sound any, either.
The box isn't big enough. It could of been made maybe 1.5" taller (an inch would work for sure) & bigger all around by a couple of inches in both length & width and it still would of fit under the seat.
Probably would sound better too.

Just curious why do you want a small powered sub and not say a stealth box or dual 10/12 box that goes under the seat?

There's someone selling a stealth box on here that would go under the rear seat, it looks almost factory.

Well, my back seat isn't in the truck and my hound dog likes to use up the entire rear for her bed/travelling spot when we go places, and I don't exactly trust her with speakers back there. So to avoid chewed up wires/speakers, I'm looking for something I can store under the seat out of her reach haha

Stealth boxes and dual sub boxes both fit directly under the seat, they're down firing. Then just mount the amp out of reach and hide the wires. That's what I would IMO

this was in an 04, mind you, but I once had 2 Kicker Solo-baric 10's in a down firing box under the back seat... they hit so hard the roof would start to dance... had to dyna-mat it. I know we probably don't have as much room under the seat, but I assume you could do something similar.

Yea i currently have a dual 12 box under my back seat with two american bass subs in it in my 93. They'll make the back glass wave at -20dB.

He's probably not looking for that, he probably wants something a lot milder

Just my .02, but why not build a downfiring box that you could fit the amp under so it would be hidden from the dog. Make it so it stretches across the cab, effectively making a doggie bench. Depending on how loud you want it , either 2 subs or 1 sub and a storage area with an access hatch?
