To roll pan or not to roll pan

93 stepside started to do body and was thinking of putting a roll pan on... opinions, problems..

I have one, only thing I see as a negative is if you ever get any type of rear end collision you can just about count your bed out as history ! Other than that I like the looks of them. Mine has been on for many many years now with a hidden hitch as well.

I just bought a suburban. The reason I could afford it was a young guy who run in to my old express van from behind. I drove on (with a dented rear door and bumper) - he had to get a row truck to bring his car to the graveyard..

Long story short: i would never give up my rear bumper! ;)

I'm with you... I shake my head in disbeleif when I see a roll pan. I can't believe that people actually deliberately make sheet metal the first point of contact on a vehicle.
