so ive successfully installed a remote start/alarm/keyless entry system in my truck and everything works but the door lock button seems to be reversed. i tried to fiddle with it again today but so far ive done just about everything. what im saying is that when i push the door lock button on the drivers side downward, it'll unlock. if i push it upwards, it'll lock. so now when i used my fob to unlock it or lock it, it'll do the opposite. the lock button will unlock and arm the alarm so it'll go off when i open the door, and the unlock will lock it and disarm the alarm. one thing i did do was switch the wiring on the drivers side door lock button that goes to a 451m relay for the reverse polarity locks and it worked for the drivers side when i push the button manually but blows the fuse if i use the fob. the passenger side stayed the same (lock unlocks, unlock locks) so im thinking i might wire the passenger side the same way.

i know at least one of the door lock switches were replaced by the previous owner, so, is it possible that maybe they bought a new one and wired it up, possibly incorrectly and fixed the other side to match? or something?

That’s how it works on my two 98s, you push the left side of the switch to lock and right side (with the four lines) to unlock.
