I have a 95 z71 gmc with a 4l60e tranny. The tranny was rebuilt by the previous owner. The tranny does great shifts smooth not hard nothing like that. But it does like to make a grinding/hard feeling when I hit the gas and it downshifts out of overdrive into 3rd. Can anyone tell me what this possibly is????

Shift-timing problem? Essentially two gears at once. If so, that's a great way to burn the clutches/bands.
Sorry for the late reply but I described it wrong. It's really more of a clunk. Well I got my mechanic to look at it and he said I have a broken motor mount which would explain clunking that happens when I hit the gas hard and let off. It also could explain the clunky downshift since the motor raises rpms. I'll post back after I get it fixed and go from there
