Oh yeah. Its so weird though, its only right there. Top of frame rail looks ok-ish and the trunk is spotless. Never seen one rust like that, could it be from constantly overfilling the gas tank? Or a leak? I guess I'm gonna run some bolts down into it and some BIG washers and hope that they dont look at it since its going in a stock class lol. Might just gut the brake and put a tiny donut on it and send it. Its just gonna pack up into the wheelwell, its got enough power to drag the back wheels lol

Took some pieces of bed frame and ran 8in long threaded rods through the middle of the pieces to "clamp" my trailing arm back on lol works damn good too. Before when I'd hit the brake the tire would rock back and forth about 5in or so,now it doesnt move at all even after some vicious rips down the road in 1st/2nd and reverse. Still right at 250 bucks for the total I've spent on the car and parts so far,all i need to do is double some tires and run a new coolant temp sensor out of my hood to prevent limp mode and i should be good

Before and after my run. Car did awesome out there for having aluminum spindles and plastic sides on the radiator. Made it about 10mins before i lost the drain plug on the radiator while giving a PT cruiser a half track tire shot:owned:
After i started puking smoke i went wide open the rest of the time. There was a taurus wagon i seen backing up from the other end,i threw it in reverse and lined up and nailed it. We both met in the middle and slammed eachother so hard that we both ended up having to break our flags because our rear bumpers dug into the mud and kept us from moving lmao. My rear frame fix held up great too,so if anyone has a rusty old malibu they wanna sell hit me up lol I'll gladly buy it:anitoof:

15 years ago I started Derbying. My first one was by far the best one. Ran 2 heats. 2cd one is the one I caused serious trouble in. The car was a 1987 Crown Vic Stock run what you brung. Rules were basically stock vehicle and suspension with the only exceptions to the battery and fuel tank. Stock fuel tanks were to be secured using 3 different measures. Door and hoods needed to be chained shut. No more than 3" of fuel in the tank which was my downfall for the Ford. Upright tank. Now the rules were a bit murky here....must have radiator fan unless the fan shroud is missing. So we opted for the missing fan shroud in this vehicle. Gave us another 7-8 inches. Which you can see by the pics....Really didnt need it.

The first run, we ran the battery in the stock location. Which was fine till a Lincoln got hit, swung around and clipped me. The battery fell forward and broke the negative posts cable. Vehicle died. Relocated battery to where the AC condenser was and secured with one of our numerous idle seat belt straps, lengthened the cables and viola, back in business.

The second run was my hell on wheels run. If the damned car started one more time, I would of been 3rd place. Instead I ended up 4th which was a good thing. The car had no more in it. That run, there was a borderline blacklisted car. An early 70s Lincoln. All metal tank with miles of air around that engine. The highlight of my run was after I bunked 2 Caprices into the concrete barrier, I only had backwards to go. That Lincoln was there. Figuring that was gonna be the end of my run, I gave her hell and reversed full speed. Cause we drilled the front shocks, the front was way lower than the back and I ran the back of the car into the Lincoln. I nailed something in the engine as it made the death rattle then blew. After that, I got hung up and was on the verge of being disqualified for non movement when someone hit the Lincoln and freed me. Then I went for broke hitting everyone I could that was moving. In the end, a couple flat front tires, low gas and a missing alternator belt doomed me.

The event was recorded by one of the local TV channels and when I went to get a copy, I was told it was gonna be used for a local show. When that show failed to air, I was told all that footage was destroyed to make room for new footage. While cell phones were gaining in popularity and such, no one really had cameras to record that. So the pics I got are actual photos I took pics of to upload here. The years printed on the back were 2002 for my first one and 2003 for the second one.

Ran a ford taurus this year in the stock class. I moved the wiring harness from in the driver side fender to in the wiper cowl, same with any other wires, wired the doors shut in every corner, ran 4 strands of wire on the hood and 2 around the front frame rails, and took off the back bumper. I had heard various pros and cons about running a taurus, but this one was a tank! Out of 25 cars I made it to 4th,the only thing that took me out was my plastic fans pushing into my manifold and catching fire lol. This was my first time running without any cleats,in a car i didn't really do anything to at all,and running with a bunch of guys that have been doing it for years. Not trying to toot my own horn about it but I think I did pretty alright. But anyway,if you've ever had the idea to derby a taurus I highly recommend it,if I remember I'll get some pictures of it to show how good it packed

This will be my first compact build. For 2021 I’m gonna be running a 1993 Volvo 850. Should be a deceiving build, everyone knows they have fiberglass core supports and alum bumpers so no one expects them to do too hot. Well,I’ve got some ancient Chinese secrets I’m gonna bestow upon this pig. The core support from a w-body will bolt in almost perfectly with a little trimming,I’m gonna have a buddy of mine make a cradle and cage for it,tuck my trunk, notch the frame, then crease the life out of the rear. Gonna move my computers inside, make a stack, make a solid rear end for it and something the protect my front tie rods, then build a big stuffed pointy bumper on it and piss off pacers and mustangs lol. Progress will be slow as I have no motivation to finish it anytime soon, maybe I’ll put my cell in it and post a burnout video
