I'm a little spoiled by my '04 Tacoma's 4 loop hooks at the base of the bed corners. You can tie things down, not merely across. My '89 Chevy came with a Tuffliner; does the plastic liner hide similar loop hooks? (This is my first Chevy truck.)

I'm considering something like bull rings for the "camper slots" in the bed rails. Hidden/flush when not used (which would be most of the time.)

$60 would fill the 4 corners. Or are there 3 per side? Currently the truck has what looks like Proline slotted bed rails that "stand up." Like so:

You see them on old trucks, driven by old men like me. Normally I wouldn't care, and actually appreciate the rail protection, but it seems they are only secured at the ends; I'd be worried about someone trying to attach a cargo chain to the middle portion and ripping them away.

Anything else I should consider? I don't plan on getting rid of the Tuffliner insert.

I don't tie stuff down a lot, but when I do, I usually attach ratchet straps directly to the underside of the bed rail. They're pretty strong.

I don't think I have an underside to my bed rail, with the liner covering it up. But it's good to know they are strong.
