Yea.
Just missed a sub-100,000 mile 5.3/4L80e/computer & harness for $1000.00.
Had to pull it though. No biggie!
Today, that's $760.00 U.S. Arrrgghhh!

That would have been a great deal! That sounds like it would have come out of a van.

That is not bad at all for a low mileage complete set for the swap.

For settling on a 6.5, at least I got a better one! I still can't comfortably call it a good one but at least it is better one.

I have nothing against the right 6.5. Recognizing that there are better years than others, that certain castings have inherent flaws, that later iterations corrected a LOT of the weak areas, and knowing that they aren't a Duramax...not to expect Duramax output from them. TBH an Optimizer or a P400 should produce LB7 power quite reliably nowadays, and I think that is plenty for the GMT400 chassis.

This is definitely a step forward. Unfortunately to be reliable I still need to address the oil cooler lines and harmonic balancer. I've already relocated the PMD, installed a duramax fan, hd fan clutch, replaced the radiator, cleaned the condenser and it came with the dual thermostats and a high output water pump. It is kinda sad that it takes that much to be reliable without performance upgrades.
I do think that I will be "happyish" once it is complete because I do have a few performance upgrades that I'll be doing.

Don't know why I never came across your truck thread, but I did read it all and thought it was neat where you mentioned Susanville in your first post since it's like an unheard town to people of the internet but it seems like every Oregon resident I know has come through here! That stretch of 395 to Reno can get so bad at times - I once recall (about two years ago) where half of a modular home on a trailer caught the wind and tipped over. They had to demolish the half of the home on the highway due to it being so large.

However good find on the Optimizer! I'm hoping it treats you well and it lasts you a long time in your black pearl! Much better than finding another 506 block!

Linkages too?
I bought the pair of doors from that 3500hd that I got the 6.5 from. I also ordered the latch rods but they haven't arrived yet. I don't need the lock rods for the rear doors which is good because they are unobtainium!
