The boxes are super useful, even though I have a tool box. Can't have too many boxes for putting things in. ;) I just carry a rag, a LED work light, and a quart of oil in the box. The tools, jumper cables, straps, wasp killer, ball mounts, etc. etc., goes in the tool box.

You need wasp killer? Are you out moving trailers a lot with nests in the ball coupler?

Z71Hobbs,

Can you take a pic of the 10mm side bolt / u clip? I took my storage box out about 10 years ago and want to re-install. I found what I think is the original 13mm nut which runs straight down into the fender, but I'm not sure what the 10mm bolt / u clip looks like. I have a pile of auto nuts and bolts and I'm sure that the original hardware is in there; somewhere...

Thanks!
Mark

Wasps are bad this year! I carry a can of "deep woods" OFF in my "emergency" bag... dang mosquitoes are terrible!
Yes they both are terrible this year! I couldn't believe it, so were those Japanese beetles! They eat almost anything.

I don't think the Japanese Beetles have been as bad this year.... at least in my yard. I did notice them attacking my grape fine on my fence. My neighbors don't really like my grape vine, and they seem to be "trimming" the leaves off that are on their side of the fence, but it's probably saving their garden from the beetles, since they love grape vines.

I got the box pulled off of my dad's old truck. No wonder I didn't see the nut before, it's way back in that corner where the box is extended out. I also checked to see if my truck had the holes to mount the box.... it does. There is actually a plastic plug in the inner fender hole. I guess to rain doesn't splash through.

I really like having the box. I keep an old belt, a quart of oil, a couple of rags, and my tie down straps in there.

That sounds like a good assortment. I got the box pulled from the old 96 the other day. It's till sitting in my garage with mouse poop on the lid. I changed a power steering hose the other day, but I still have one leaking, so I need to finish that up and clean the mess under the hood before installing the box. Maybe I'll at least clean the box up today, and get it ready to go.

Do these install the same on a 94 as they do on the 96+ trucks? I'm thinking my charcoal canister might be in the way.
