What's a dual temperature thermostat?
What makes that a "dual temperature" thermostat? What are the two temperatures?

I did a quick search on "dual temperature thermostat" and got nothing useful--some hits for home and business thermostats to be used with furnaces and air conditioning, that have separate day/night set points.

The thermostat in the link is a lot like Ford Cleveland, and Cadillac thermostats, (and others) in that it covers/uncovers a bypass hole.

That looks very similar to the thermostat on my 500. I'm not understanding what makes this dual temperature.

Bypass opens when thermostat closes, so the coolant can still circulate. There's no "dual-temp" involved here. I have no idea where that term came from.
