Can’t figure out my temp gauge issue. Seeing if ya can help me out. I’ve replaced the temp sensor on the driver side, grounded out green wire for sensor and the gauge went to hot. I’ve even checked polarity from sensor to back of gauge cluster. And gauge still doesn’t go over 100. I installed a mechanical gauge to make sure engine is warming up correctly and it works perfectly normal. It’s just the factory temp gauge will not work. Does it get power from another source?

That's crazy, I was just posting about this today in the "What did you do to you GMT400 today?" thread... Mine never reads over 150-160. Pulled some data from the ECM and the OTHER sensor is reporting 194ish for the temp, so I know it's hott!

I grounded out the one wire sensor and the gauge pegged over hard, so I know the gauge is physically working.

Someone posted what the resistance should be to display certain temps on the gauge. I have a buddy who is going to wire up some resistors and a switch to test both and see if my gauge displays the correct temp for a specific OHM. I was going to post up those results and see if the gauge ******* is not a perfect test for the accuracy of a reading.

Yep. That’s why it doesn’t make sense to why it doesn’t work. Done replaced temp sensor multiple times to
