The Stupid Lowered Questions Thread

Hey guys. Newbie question. I only want to lower the front 1". Can I just use a set of 1" lowering springs and be done with it? Am going to lower the back 2" with a shackle set.

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere. Couldn't find it with the search.

Oh, 1992 Silverado 1500, 305, Auto, 178k miles, stock.

Cut them!
1 full coil removed = 2". So...just remove 1/2 of one for that 1" drop.
Cutting coil springs increases the spring rate, giving a bit of a stiffer ride. Although with only 1/2 a coil cut, the rate isn't going to increase all that much.
And it's a free!

can someone tell me what is the fender height from ground for a stock suspension on a 1988 single cab short bed? I think my truck has been lowered but would like to know the numbers...

you're probably going to want bottom of fender to center of wheel.. tire size and wheel size will change the ride height to the ground too much to give you an accurate number.

Question about dropped 4x4 alignment.

1995 Tahoe 2 door 4x4, I wanted to do a 3.5"F/4"R drop kit from Belltech. The one kit with keys and springs.

Will the alignment be able to be adjusted with that much drop? Don't want to eat up tires.

Hey guys, hoping to find an answer to my problem here. I have a 91 single cab 2wd 3500. Been looking for a lowering kit and every where i look for drop spindles or springs it says it isnt compatible with the 91 2wd single cab. why is this and is there something I can do to make them work?

This is pretty much exactly what I'm building my truck to look like. Except taller tires in the rear. This is a pretty truck! Btw mine is 4wd

running these 24 irocs 35 series, with a 2 in drop in the front and rub pretty terribly on frame when turning sharp. without spacers is there a way to eliminate this? is there a known way to cut the frame in this scenario? while i’m here anyone know anything about shaving lower body lines?

Well if this is a stupid question I'm in the right thread. My 96 Sierra. Ecsb 2wd v6. I'm probly just gonna go with a 2/4 static and was thinking other day of using c2500 light duty axle/brakes for the 6lug and runnin nnbs 18s or 20s. Anyone else tried this? Will i need to roll my fenders? I've always been partial to the older vehicle/newer factory wheel set up.
