Hi guys!

I just changed the front brakes on my K1500 -90 without ABS.
Ive bleed the system with new brakefluid, no air shown at calipers/drums but my brakepedal goes all the way down. Just like Ive still got air in my lines.

I made a tool that hold this pin in, but only this pin. The other two dustcaps in this area didnt have any moving pins inside.

Is there another thing Im missing? There is a gayser inside the master cylinder container when I press the brakes.

Thankful for all help. Jesper from Sweden

No, I didnt. Just put fluid in the reservoir and made my wife pump the pedal. As usual.

I havent really wrenched on any american cars before this. I love my pickup, but this and that is a bit different then on european cars.
Do you think its necessary to benchbleed the mastercylinder, just because gravity took all the fluids from it when the front hoses was disconnected?

Yes, You must bleed the master cylinder if it ran out of fluid

I have had some success bleeding masters by loosening the line out filling the master and just lightly pump the pedal like a 1/4 stroke. You can also bleed brakes by just opening the bleeders and keep the master full if no ABS gravity will let the fluid run. It sometimes takes a while but I work alone and have done it many times.
Remember to leave the cover off or loose if trying to gravity bleed.

Thanks guys! That gravity-bleeding trick worked perfectly and my brakes feel better than ever.
