I searched. I can't find anything.

1995 Tahoe LT 5.7 2 door 4x4 hatch

Door switch operates both locks without issue. It's likely unrelated, but the hatch button on the dash, and FOB hatch button works fine as well.

Under normal operation, I hit the unlock button on the FOB once, and I get a relay click, the light under the dash goes on, but the driver lock actuator doesn't move. I hit it a second time, and the passenger door unlocks. Driver lock doesn't move.

I have approx 2.5" long relay with 6 wires going in. I was able to splice the tan wire from that relay to the driver door lock actuator, and the drivers door will then unlock when I press the unlock button twice. When I press it once I get the relay click for the driver door, light comes on, but still no unlock.

When I disconnect that long relay, and go through the same as before, I get a relay click from under the dash, but both doors are inop. I'm not small fellow, and I've been unable to twist myself enough to locate this second relay so far.

Any idea where to look and what to check? I've seen some suggestions that it could be a partially bad relay, but nobody has jumped wires that I've seen. Hearing the click makes me think the relay is working properly. I've also been unable to figure out which wire from the long relay gets voltage when the FOB button is hit once for the driver door.

Here is the diagnostic for a driver door lock not unlocking using the keyless remote. It’s for a 1998...not 100% sure that it’s the same for a 1995, but maybe it will help.

The Door Lock Control Module was only used on those with cargo (barn) doors.

That's great. Thanks a ton, I appreciate it. My father is going in for a knee replacement tomorrow, so I'll test a few things at a time throughout the week.

I'll let you guys know what I find

Step one is done, the test light didn't come on.

I've spent the past hour looking for the door lock receiver. I can find pictures of them online but can't locate it. I read someone on just answer said on the K series Silverado it's located behind the "left hand sound panel insulator" which I have no idea what that is. I haven't found anything Tahoe specific as of yet.

I've got these two units on the right side of the column. The large metal unit on the top right moves somewhat freely, and feels to have 1 mounting point near the top. The smaller black box on the left center doesn't budge.

Neither of these two units resembles the door lock receiver I've seen pictures of online.

This is all that I could find on the receiver, looks like it’s on that horizontal bar under the driver dash.

Cripes man. The more I'm looking, the more I'm thinking that black box is the module I want. And I can't see any easy way of getting it out short of using dynamite. On the 99-01 it's just sitting behind the instrument cluster. But why should it be easy for me

This is going on the back burner for now. I can't figure out a way to get to the box, and while buttoning everything up, and putting it back the way it was the lock went completely inop. So now I've gotta fix it back to the rigged way I had it originally. I've run out of patience, and skin on my knuckles.

Thank you for your time I really do appreciate everything. This just isn't working right now. I'll give it another go next time I'm tinkering with the truck.

Yeah, sometimes you have to call it before you hurl a wrench through the windshield. I looked under mine but had trouble finding the box as well. If it’s that one way up top roughly behind the auxiliary CD player, then it looks like the knee bolster and dash trim panel may need to come off.

Beats me. Good luck.

I had the bolster off, the steel U shaped bracket behind it, the dash bezel, as well as the gauges. I saw a video that showed the location on the 99-01 was top right behind the gauges. No such luck on my 95.

If/when I find this thing, I'll update this thread, and I'll included whatever other information I can to prevent someone else from going insane and splitting a few knuckles.
