I’m looking for a spare tire crossmember in good to great shape for my current build. Anyone doing junk yard runs and willing to grind down some rivets to drag it out?

I’m located in rusty Massachusetts and my pickings have been limited to items that more closely resemble dirt than anything else.

We can work out the price. Let me know!

I ultimately intend to remove mine for the spare suburban fuel tank addition.

Check with J Perry Garage in Taunton Mass. He parts these trucks for a living.

Had the same issue. Hit almost every yard in NE. Ended up getting one in florida. They cut it out, my dad shipped it up. Had it in a week. They only charged me 25.00.

Good luck.

Old thread, I know, but I need that exact same part. My Wife and I found a "decent" one in a junkyard, but they wouldn't let us cut it out. So after 3 hours of using hand tools and random exhaust pieces for a breaker bar, we got the bed off and marked what we wanted cut out. The junkyard of course cut through one of the tabs that hold it in place, so back to the drawing board.

I'd repair my current one, but it's completely rotted through.

Replying to my own thread here, I ended up getting one from eBay that was in great shape for $75. My local junkyard in MA didn’t have anything worth the effort of digging into a truck for

I still need one of these. I was able to remove my original crossmember w/out destroying it any further, but it's seriously borderline savable , if at alll.

So unless someone has an alternative for this part, my poor truck sits, awaiting parts......
