My dad got a smoking deal on a 96 2 door Tahoe that was owned by a farmer.. a little under 110k miles. This thing had been parked in a field for a some years before he decided to drag it home and list it for sale.

LT trim. Power everything and leather. Years of being exposed to the West Texas sun worked its magic on the clear coat (part of the reason he got such a good deal on it)
As with any 20+ year old vehicle, it had its kinks to straighten out. Torn leather, ac blend door malfunctioning, broken exterior handle, bent front and rear bumpers, and random wiring issues (mice decided it'd make a good breeding playground while sitting in aforementioned field)

one re-spray later and nnbs sierra all terrain wheels.
After being re-sprayed we went to the junkyard to find a decent tailgate emblem. While there I suggested to him using a smaller gmt800 chevrolet emblem and combine it with the "tahoe" piece of a gmt400 emblem.

This was the result. We removed the "tahoe" font from a 400 emblem and trimed it the size of 800 Chevrolet font. Ended up with this. We think it looks way better, it's a tad smaller than the standard 400 emblem and it's nothing I've seen done before

The emblem looks great! These kinds of custom-but-still-oem(OEcustoM?) projects are some of my favorite things to find on this forum! It really is these little details that make someones truck unique.

Thanks bud and I agree! While I've never seen this done, I do love reading about these type of OEish upgrades that make trucks stand out. Only gmt400 enthusiasts will ever notice something so subtle
