    Stereo install

Fantastic looking 2-door you have there. I like the new 20s on it - looks good.

Pulse / Delay / Intermittent Windshield Wipers

I ended up swapping out my board two weeks ago, and now the rains have stopped coming. I may have to get my Camaro out and wash it to resummon the storms... Swapping it was very simple though. I kept the old one so I can fix it another day. I ended up buying an AC Delco one through AutoZone...

Need help deciding if it’s a good set up

    My God that sounds fantastic.

What happened to all the Heavy Duty suspension kits?

I like this line of thinking. That is exactly how I approach repairs on my Tahoe and my Camaro. Moog seems to be pretty beefy when set side-by-side with OEM, so that's been the parts I've been insisting on when my originals are wearing out. I've not done much research on other...

Need help deciding if it’s a good set up

4L80E would be about as worry free as you could get on the trans. If you are putting money into the 4L60, I'd reconsider that and just upgrade to the 80. If the 60 is already built, then run with it until it breaks to save some coin. The other part I'd question would be the rear axle. I'm...

    Is it worth it?

I agree. And there is a cool factor of having an older truck that is in good cosmetic and mechanical shape. My truck has very little rust for a Midwest truck and runs very well, and I get a lot of compliments on it. Not sure how much I have into my Tahoe - easily $6K in repairs/maintenance...

    Is it worth it?

Kind of a complicated question that boils down to your personal preference. On one hand, fixing up your truck, as others have mentioned, means you can take your time, do it right, and use quality parts. You also learn the truck - all of the unique things that exist in it. You also have a...

Pulse / Delay / Intermittent Windshield Wipers

I've been told soldering is pretty simple to do/learn, but I'm too tired of dealing with this issue. I'll pick up a new board and install this weekend, and will attempt to fix the old board after I teach myself how to solder. Excellent write-up Schurkey. This should make my install process go...

Shocks and front end parts advice

Just here to add a +1 for the KYB shocks. I wanted Billstein but was talked into KYB (made in Kentucky - I love made in the USA stuff). Initially I hated them, but after a couple hundred miles of break-in, they are very nice. Price is hard to beat too, considering KYB is a fairly good brand...

    1999 Tahoe rebirth

Sorry for the slow reply. I don't spend nearly enough time on this forum. Same user name on LS1 Tech. I'm the mod for the lounge and a couple other less frequented sections. Pretty sure I've been there for over 10 years as well. Nice work on that intake. That looks damn good!

    1999 Tahoe rebirth

Being from LS1 Tech, I sometimes browse the wheel selection on OE Wheels. There's a couple sets on there I really like, but I fall in love with those Texas style 20s every time I see them on a GMT900 in a parking lot.

    KYB GR-2 shocks

Glad you like the KYBs. I recently had KYBs installed on all 4 corners to replace some well-worn Bilsteins. Initially I was not happy as the KYBs were riding very firm but they have softened up nicely after a couple hundred miles. To do it over, I'd probably pay extra for the Bilsteins, but...

    1999 Tahoe rebirth

Sorry to hear about your dad. Best wishes to him. Cancer... ugh... As a fellow F-body guy and '99 Tahoe owner, I'm enjoying the build this far. You mentioned putting 20" wheels on at some point - just curious which you were considering? I personally think the the Texas 20s from the GMT900s...

    1995 Chevy 2 door 'Hoe

I use to have a '94 K-Blazer. Loved that thing - named it Lunch Box. I ended up trading it in on a Saab 9-7x Aero, but have always regretted getting rid of it. I'm back in a '99 Tahoe now, but the 2-door models always get my attention. Good luck with the restoration.

ABS Kicks on at Parking Lot Speeds

Been awhile since I've posted here. Good to see the site is still very active. :) Anyway, I've had a LOT of brake issues on my truck - been to the shop 3 times now for a variety of issues. In the past year (about 6K miles per year), I've had the rotors, pads, drums, and shoes all replaced...
