TBI, Vortec, 6.5…. or LS?
If they cut the frame to install a Cummins in a GMT 400, it was a not a quality job. It is tight, but can be done on both 2 and 4wd with no frame cutting or body lift. Did enough on both that I designed and made my own mounts. The 73-87 the frame ahead of the engine crossmember needs notched...- vr1967

TBI, Vortec, 6.5…. or LS?
If it were mine, I’d find a good Gen6 block and rebuild, but install a better cam (the factory cam in these was “lazy”), a better set of injectors (poor design) and update the ecm to an 0411 with a good tune, and you’d be surprised at the difference.- vr1967

Ext Cab to Crew Conversion Question

Frame issues
Wasn’t so far away, i have a crew cab 4wd frame with front suspension, i’ll let go for a very reasonable price. 4l80E Low on Fluid
A few of the builders that specialize in the 4L80 recommend remarking your dipstick to show full 1/4 inch above where the pan bolts to the case.- vr1967

1994 2500 8-lug 4x4 transmissions
Back about 92-early 93, went with my brother to look at a very clean, 1 old man owner 85 C10. Not a scratch, interior looked new, low miles, garage kept from day one. Very very reasonably priced. Test drove it and found out why it was still sitting there- it surged bad after it warmed up...- vr1967

No Tranny Codes, Not pumping?
Quick glance thru the other thread and didn’t see this asked, but is the torque converter still bolted to the flexplate? Should be 3 bolts attaching the two together.- vr1967
