Owner of 2 squares! Also, a Suburban

I just found out this is a sub-section on this forum, so I'll post my other vehicle builds! 1982 Chevrolet K10 Shortwide Silverado My buddy owned this originally, but he's got a lot on his plate. He sold it to me running and driving for $1000. Manual window, A/C (doesn't work, but has it)...

Any other 16 17 18 year old members out there.

Honestly with ya. I'm generally a country fan (cojo, Flatland Cavalry, Aaron Watson, Randall King, Kat Hasty, Ian Munsick, etc), but I just went to a Metallica concert a week ago in Dallas.

95+ Head Unit Recommendations & General advice

Pioneer AVH-3500NEX is a flip-out 7" screen that fits in a single-din spot. It has CarPlay, Bluetooth, calling, etc. I want to put it in my '98 when I can justify the price.

Best lift for 2000 k3500 dually

Oh crap you're right, I forgot about them. Edit: I knew this thread was old, but I didn't realize it was almost 4 years old!:Big Laugh::Big Laugh: crazy part is I remember typing it, I just didn't realize how long ago it was.

    Sound Deadening - Cost/Thickness/Density Comparison

This is super cool! Thanks for taking the time to do it! Perfect because I'm wanting to install sound deadening in my '82 K10 and '98 K3500 here soon

    Duramax Swap Opinions

Possibly, but it's already boxed around the front half of the frame, so I imagine that part is solid.

    Duramax Swap Opinions

Ideally yeah. I'd ideally like to be at 400 crank horsepower with some breathing upgrades and a tune. And that truck sounds badass. Is it the factory square body frame, too?

I forgot how old this thread was :Big Laugh::Big Laugh::Big Laugh: sounds like a good looking truck!

    Duramax Swap Opinions

I'm debating on swapping a Duramax into my '98 K3500 that currently has a 5.7L. I'm having electrical issues preventing the fuel pump from running, and I'm getting tired of putting money into an underwheling engine, anyway. I've always wanted diesel power in that truck. I think a 7000 pound...

    Fuel millage

I feel that. When a 34 gallon tank barely goes 300 miles, you just kinda stop caring because it hurts to care. I also own a '17 Suburban and that 31 gallon tank once got me 640 miles and that's awesome.

    99 L31 Burb won't start

I'm subbing to this. My '98 K3500 5.7L has the same issue. There's no fuel pressure, NO noise from a new ACDelco fuel pump, and no power at the plug. There's power at the relay, though, but still no power after replacing the relay. There's also power to the fuel level sending unit, but no power...

    400 vs newer

Oh they're awful. I used to work valet at a hotel in Aspen. This Tesla pulled up and the way to get into it, start it, and turn it off is COMPLETELY different than any other car. No gauge cluster, just a frickin' huge touchscreen in the middle of the car. I had to search a YouTube video to...

    400 vs newer

That's what I'm saying! Sure, a carb may be simpler, but that carb is only good for a certain amount of elevation before it chokes out. In my '98 K3500, I can drive from sea level in Texas, go up to 12,097 ft over Independence Pass, then drop back to 8000 ft in Aspen without any tuning adjustment.

    400 vs newer

I've already spent some time on Colorado trails in my '98 K3500 CCLB so I'm not really worried about a taking a MUCH shorter square body. I want to swap out the engine and trans with a newer 5.7L Vortec/4L80e trans. That's what's in my '98 and I never had altitude issues since it's basically a...
