thanks guys really appreciate the kind words! should have mentioned it will be a plain metallic blue paint (lexus/toyota colour) with a silver chassis and a mix of the blue and silver on suspension and brake parts ect... Appearance wise it will look like your typical shaved up chev truck but...- ryan350

hi all sorry for the lack of updates but progress has been super slow!!! to start with i have new notch plates on now (same design) just with a bit more clearance, when i first measured it up i measured it with 265/35/22 tires and not 286/35/22 tires so it was hit and miss if it would lay out so...- ryan350

cheers howard, i actually spoke to the bloke who builds my transmissions the other day and he said straight away to go the 80! the 4l60e was never a option in the end as like you said there not as strong as the 4l80e's. One of my mates oldmans owns a transmission repair/building shop in ballarat...- ryan350

well here are some pics of the chassis (still have to get the flapper disc on it to smooth it all up!) happy to say that it did not really move/flex! most we had was on one of the ends but pulled back to the original spot when we welded the underside so all in all im happy! also picked up the...- ryan350

yeah they are 6 lug mate, i am running c2500 6 lug rotors up front and 6 lug in the rear! Once it is on the road again i am doing oversized front rotors and calipers. will be getting new hubs built to suit my spindles and it is costing alot less than the 5 lug big brake kit offered!- ryan350

Got a bit more done this weekend! starting cutting out all the 3mm plate to start boxing the chassis, got one side complete (just need to finish tacking it in) and need to cut out one more piece and clean up one other piece for the passanger side. quite time consuming as there is alot of...- ryan350

Howard as for the wheels yeah i think it is worth while getting rims from the states if there the style you want! most wheels we have down here in 20" + to suit our trucks look **** in my opinion, I have seen a build of a real nice f100 and was the wheels looked hidious on the truck and made the...- ryan350

cheers horward i joined your group mate and even mentioned a place on there to by cheap parts in aus! Panelbeating wise i am using a young bloke in churchill actually for the reason that he does alot of custom work on mini trucks ie shaved doors ect.... and he is giving me a reasonable hourly...- ryan350
