    Intro Post from Michigan

Welcome from the U.P! You chose a great site to join, and I think everybody here has a GMT400 problem (at least I do :Big Laugh:).

For our standards, thats a clean truck! I've seen so much worse rust from a lot further south than MO, hope it doesn't rust anymore than that

    Greetings From Minnesota

I don't think you would've, I never really ventured to the twin cities until I moved to Superior. You might've seen my truck/Cimmaron if I was going to a Wild game. My C3500 was unmistakeable, it was usually being obnoxiously loud, or the radio obnoxiously loud (hides that belt squeal!), usually...

    Greetings From Minnesota

I lived in N i mrod I had a job as a traveling construction worker, and I moved a ton. Although, it was a combination of MN, WI, OH, MI, LA, and GA, I blame MN for it because thats when the rust kept coming with no end. edit: N i mrod is still censored?

    Greetings From Minnesota

Welcome to the forum from the U.P. That's a clean truck, couldn't tell that it has 200k+ miles. And I can testify, GMT400s don't last around MN  . I lived in ****** MN for a bit, and my 99 C3500 basically died there. Rust is an enemy of mine.

    stuff that catches my eye

Hopefully it isn't, I left LA right before that all happened. I hear a lot from my wife's family about it, Luckily they weren't horribly affected back then.

https://houma.craigslist.org/cto/d/morgan-city-1996-chevy-c10/7606878282.html In the "what are you working on" thread, I've been talking about a "rot free" GMT400. This is it, from the first couple pictures it seems fairly rust free from the pictures. Price is a bit steep, but I could get at...

    Vortec 2200 swap?

If you want "good" fuel economy from a GMT400, I'd put a 4.3 in it. I don't think it's a "drop and go" solution, but it would be less work to put a 4.3 in it since they were sold with them. I haven't driven a 4.3 GMT400, but I've driven several S10 Blazers with the 4.3 and its not horrible. Gas...

I'd go with it just to use it as it's been used. Or, take the plow off it and drive it until the wheels fall off (due to rust). Or it goes out Yooper style, the plastics rust off.

    stuff that catches my eye

I'm leaning toward that one, it doesn't seem too rough and I could justify it being $7000. Maybe my wife wouldn't, but it's not the worst thing I've brought to her in the last month

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/880718802982197/ I could only think of a 2000s rap song when I saw it. Then the alligator seats with the head on the inside really sealed the deal. If the TV on the dash was where the horn goes, then it'd be ultimate 2000s rappers car.

Subbed, really cool truck! I’m not a big Range Rover guy, but the older ones are my style.

What's my MPG? Not good, I think that's what the EPA estimates too.

    Build a hypothetical 3500HD.

Now I've got a problem. I was gonna build a Suburban; Escalade interior, Escalade exterior, 1 ton axles, SAS, Duramax swap, lots of other stuff (Kodiak handles, floorshift automatic, etc). But after seeing the render of this hypothetical 3500HD, I'm starting to look for C3500HDs to throw a solid...
