    Forgot to update/close my post. Turned out I did have a second broken ground ... the one from the body to the frame, and the one (same bolt) from the frame to the back of the engine. Wasn't physically broken, but was super crusty. That resolved the no crank issue. Which led to crank/no start ...

    Battery is tight ... no noticeable corrosion on the business side of the terminals ... the nut side has a little rust but that's not there. Found a broken ground from frame to body. All the other grounds 'look' ok .. I think I'll make up some fresh ones while I've got the crimper out.

    I second the Nicopp. Costs more initially, but flares and bends easy enough to warrant the expense, and you never, ever have to worry about rusting lines again.

    I dunno about where you live, but the scrap yards around me up here in Canuckistan will transplant an engine for $900 or so, with a 6 month warranty. That's no LS swap ... but it's a quick and dirty way to get back on the road in a hurry without paying $3000 for a rebuild.
