They are the same. My Tahoe has a truck axle it it. All bolted in fine.
The only difference Ive noticed is that if the SUV has a rear sway bar there are mounts for it not on the truck axles.
Nothing different as far as bolting in and working fine though.
Usually just a different u-joint in your driveline.
Ive read you can swap the 10 bolt yoke onto the 9.5 but never tried myself.
Really just tear one out and bolt the new one in its place...
Dont spend ANY money on the 10 bolt. Get a 14 bolt SF. Easy to find in 3.73 but youd be better off getting the front and rear from a 4.10 truck and swap both.
The front is a bolt in and will take an hour to do.
The rear is a near bolt on and you will be getting a MUCH stronger diff with...
If the tube is the same what parts are different ?
Is there just a spacer in the newer axle and I’ve just never noticed ? It’s not like it’s a part that’s out often.
I tried to find a diagram but between the years the diagrams are the same so I can’t just compare part #’s.
If the shift...
Also, anyone have the dimensions of the spacer ?
If I have to go that route I'd rather not spend $50 on a wiring harness I dont need just to get the spacer...
Im swapping out my rear axle this weekend in my 97 Tahoe.
Im all good on the rear but the Front diff from my parts truck is a 1991 with the Thermal Actuator.
My Tahoe is a 97 with Electric and obviously, Id like to stick with the Electric one.
I know they make a conversion with a spacer but...
Installed this today. Its a tight fit but it fits.
Lincoln Navigator rear seat console in my 97 Tahoe.
The height is perfect for an armrest and it has tons of storage.
Most importantly, it has gret cupholders...lol
Ive had the best luck with a plain old AC Delco EP381.
Running one in my 2002 8.1, my 76 Blazer ( FiTech injected ), and just swapped a 2nd bad Delphi out for one in my Tahoe.
Its also super easy to find and under $100...
Dammit...lol
Im back.
Has been running great till this morning.
Got the lean codes and rough running now along with a surging idle...
Fuel pressure is low. 30-32 psi.. It has a new delphi pump and upgraded spider already from a couple weeks ago... UGH...
Whats the best way to check each...
Id get a good guage before I did anything else and verify fuel pressure.
Next will be to clean battery grounds and the one on the back of the passenger side head.
If the pressure is still low pinch the return ( may be easier to get to the rubber line near the tank ) and see if it goes up.
You...
For sure it’s 3/8x16.
Sometimes the puller closes up the end of the shaft a little so it makes getting a bolt started back in.
In the past I’ve used a 1/2” drill bit on the end of the shaft to clean it up and removed th deformed metal on the very end of the shaft.
I have the same guage and it was showing in the lower portion of the "normal" green area so it looks like I may have said 16 and meant 18..lol
After the new Pump and Spider I installed last night. its running great.
I put another 200 miles on it today with no codes so Im hoping its good to go...
