Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

I did not find anything else that may have caused this issue with the temp gage and have just "lived with it" after my last post 12/3/22 . That being said I am starting to have other issues with the oil pressure, Tach and fuel gage jumping about "2 lines" at will. But I will start another...

'94 coolant leak at oil cooler line.

Old thermostat on left with valve , new thermostat on right. The new thermostat part number is 15359 from Auto Zone, this is what they said fit it but they could be wrong. We are dealing with a 1994 K 1500 GMC Suburban with the 5.7L , The radiator looks original as best as I can tell, the...

Hi Guys, I just replaced my antifreeze and thermostat at the the beginning of the winter and now I am noticing a coolant leak in the area of the upper radiator hose / oil line area on the radiator. Hi guys, looking at using my 1994 suburban with tow package to tow a full size 4x4 reg cab truck about 200 miles using a tow dolly, Back roads and nothing high speed. Can I just throw the transfer case in neutral without pulling the driveshaft while keeping the Auto Trans in park ?

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

The gauge does creep up as the engine warms up , so I am pretty confidant from what everybody has posted that I do , in fact , have the correct part for my application regardless of the wording on the box. Many Thanks to all who have posted and helped me out . :)

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

In regards to the temp sending unit : When I went to pick up the part at Auto Zone, the counter guy let me see the computer screen because there were more than one option to choose from . The option I picked was described as a " temperature sending unit , 1 OR 2 wire " . When I got the part...

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

After cleaning out the threads for the sending unit with a drill and a bore brush, I replaced the thermostat ( 195 ) and temp sending unit and the gauge now reads 1 tick higher than it did before. I can also see a more prominent swing in the gauge when the thermostat opens and closes. The...

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

My ground goes to a stud on the intake manifold straight to the neg. side of the battery and it also has two wires that ground there , a tan wire and a black wire. I took them off and cleaned it up. The stud had forma-gasket ( the hard kind ) on it , After cleaning it up I replaced it with...

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

I took the sending unit and worked it in and out a couple of times in the head to make sure the sending unit was getting a good ground at the head and after I did this the gauge would not move. I then took the wire and grounded it to the battery to make sure the gauge itself pegged out and it...

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

I do not think this is my problem because my gauge does move as the truck gets warm, it just stops rising earlier than it should.

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

Recently read the thread you started and came across something that was posted. My heads are iron and I am wondering if there is a different part number ( and maybe calibration ) for a sender / switch for trucks with alumin heads. ? If so, It would not suprize me if the aftermarket parts...

Temp gauge reads low on '94 5.7L

when doing some research before posting , I came across some thread that was talking about the clutch for the fan being filled with to much hydraulic fluid, causing the fan to spin at a higher RPM witch in turn causes the truck to run cold. I dismissed it as BS, But what do I know . Just...
