Where to mount aux trans filter?

I also had a truck (‘72 F-100) where someone welded a bolt on receiver to the frame. Only they didn’t bolt it and they welded it crooked. :(

Electrical problems

We're narrowing this down. I think it's either a ground (which I know you have looked at) or I would highly suspect the large gauge connection from the battery to the under-hood fuse box. Follow that all the way across the top of the radiator to the fuse panel and inspect the connection there.

I would assume they are directly related. The things that aren't working are all high-current devices that are probably just not getting sufficient amps from the system to start up. Seems like a good idea to fix that battery terminal issue. I would think you could tap that and use a larger bolt...

Thanks. There are a lot of them out there, at least, here in Oregon. I honestly had been looking for a "3+3" crew cab square body before I realized I was pretty much priced out of that. Didn't really know much at all about the GMT400 trucks at the time and now that I pay attention, decent K2500s...

4x4 issue

Will it go into 4 Hi from 2wd if you are, say, driving slowly on a gravel road? I don't think your problem is the front diff actuator. J

No 4wd and grinding noises

Or just jack up the front end and shift the transfer case to 4wd (engine off). If you can turn the front driveshaft by hand, it's not in 4wd. Maybe disconnect the shifter from the transfer case and see if you can get it in by moving the lever on the case by hand.

4L80 Transmission Temporarily Overheating

Hey! I have been to the WAAAM several times, lots of fun. Several GMT400s with truck campers on this site, here's mine in eastern Minnesota this past summer. This is a few weeks after we drove up 97 through the Gorge when it was 116 degrees. The transmission got plenty warm on that one.

The (Raybestos) drums that I put on my K2500 a couple of years ago were garbage from the factory. Crazy how out of round they were.
