    99 k1500 suburban passlock issues

this video claims to show how to defeat it entirely by removing the module... not really sure what effect it would have to remove it since it contains the EVO as well.

fuel pump relay ground and power

you will need a multi meter I figure. Pull the ECM-B fuse and see if there is continuity to pin 87 of the fuel pump relay on one side of the fuse socket. The other side should be 12V hot all times. If you have 12V on one side as you should, the problem is between the other side and pin 87. If...

fuel pump relay ground and power

If I recall, pin 87 receives power directly from the ECM-B fuse in the underhood fuse panel. Is that fuse blown? Not sure if pre-98 is different.

    Whats the difference in a 1994 2500 and 1994 3500?

Interesting. I am looking at a pickup that was originally a chassis cab but now has a regular bed.

What do you mean by straight rails? What did regular pickups get instead?

GMT400 Rear Crossmember / Tire Carrier replacement?

thanks for the replies. I didn't look at it in person, but from the photo it seems signifcantly eaten away. I rescaled the photo to show the area I am referencing:

GMT400 Rear Crossmember / Tire Carrier replacement?

I've been thinking, since it might prove difficult to remove a bed at a junk yard to get to this, can this piece be removed by lifting one side of the bed at a time? If anyone has a photo of this section of the frame with the bed removed I'd appreciate it.

GMT400 Rear Crossmember / Tire Carrier replacement?

I am looking at a truck to buy and while the frame is overall clean, the rear crossmember is falling apart. It seems the part number is GM 15529438, which is discontinued. Has anyone had to replace theirs, and how was the process? I understand the factory rivets this piece in, and a replacement...

    Lights package

You will need some of the harness, going from one bulb to two. And doesn't the side marker have another bulb as well? As far as I know there is no common junction in the two harnesses so they would need to be spliced. Either grill is in every junkyard near me so if go with whatever you already have.

    Lights package

Do you mean like this? vs if so, the first picture is a "Cheyenne" trim, while the bottom is a "Silverado" trim. That is how they were referred in the early years, with Silverado being the top trim, and Cheyenne being cheaper with less features. It gets a little confusing because in later...

Wanting to buy a GMT400, how old is too old, and years to avoid? (discussion)

Good questions, I should clarify. This would be a second vehicle, not a daily driver. I am looking for a 'work truck' to load up to and from the dump, do yard cleanup, carry lumber and supplies when I have projects. Somewhat regularly moving furniture or larger items (hence 8ft bed)...

Wanting to buy a GMT400, how old is too old, and years to avoid? (discussion)

Hi all, been lurking here for the past few months as I search for a decent truck in my area! I am looking for a long bed 4x4, probably 2500/3500 series, and have been thinking an OBDII truck would be preferred vs an older one. Do the older trucks have any issues that are unique to them, or to...
