A good friend of mine used to drag race back in the 80's so I believe him when he says th400/th350 are very touchy about fluid pressure. To much or to little pressure would reck them.
I'd see what your pressure is for your 4l60e after running to the cooler/radiator.
A Class II cam would be on par with a marine cam.
If you can find a newer set of heads I'd swap them; I took a set off a 2012 and port matched for my 98.
Intake there's plenty of carb/efi available it's just preference.
The turn of the century is a interesting time in the automotive world, with emissions being the new focal point of design leaving the previous generation of engines no longer cost-effective to use.
With modern emissions the engineers had to come up with new ways to still improve the engines...
I have a lot of crazy ideas go through my head. This one seems like a fun one to ponder over.
New technology has left the 6.5 in the dust, but what if some of that technology is slowly integrated in to her through almost a complete rework?
Step 1. Start from the bottom and work your way up is...
Kudos for the 8100 swap. I have three 350s, if I need a power house I got chooses. When I got the 4.3L it was mostly for the manual, but found I got 5 more mpg then my 305. Having a mpg focased runner that still can get used and abused once and a will is something I'm will to tinker with.
Thanks for the link. My main goal for the 4.3L is fuel economy and reliability.
The spider injector setup is the number one thing people tell me they hate about the vortecs. After I had a injector break (different truck) on me during installation, I understood why.
Getting a different...
I have a 98 4.3 vortec 5 speed I'm rebuilding slowly.
After blowing the intake pressure sensor and maybe the gasket, I've looked in to new injectors (sence there 20 years old) for when I do the gasket.
Gm never upgraded to a better injector setup for the V6, so I've been thinking about a...
I've had friends how purchase parts of rockauto and had the part go bad within the mouth. I've never tried rockauto because I hear more bad storys then good when it comes to rockauto.
A buddy of mine sold me his 6.5l long block diesel, it has interior wire damage thanks to mice. I have a 5.7 of the same year (95) so I thought I could take the interior wire harness out of my gas and put it in my diesel. When I blew this past the 6.5s old owner he sayed it won't work because...
