    4L60e level

Ya good call, I was watching that YouTube channel 1road and was thinking about doing the fluid flush and filter change, but got a little worried after watching Chrisfix videos, as he speaks to new fluid causing issues if the old fluid is dirty, but I don’t think mine is. Anyways I think I will...

    4L60e level

Ya I agree if it’s still shifting correctly then it must be a sign nothing is too out of order, but I guess only time will tell. I think I will keep checking on the fluid level after each drive, and if I start seeing small bubbles I will take it to the mechanic. Thanks

    4L60e level

I checked my ATF in my 4L60e when I got it a few thousand km ago. It was low, like not even on the dipstick low (I let the truck warm up, then cycled through the gears with the brake on), I got some synthetic D3 compatible to top it up (not sure what was in it). I added about 1/2 liter (quart)...

    Voltage Regulator Alternator Output ????

So twice now my positive side battery cable bolt has loosened off enough that the truck wouldn’t start. This GMT400 is not my daily driver and I just acquired it last fall, so I honestly don’t know yet where the gauges should be. I did put a new battery in it the day I got it. Ok enough back...

    Roadside Repair Kit?

I remember as a kid in the 90’s feeling good whenever my dad would stop to help someone on the side of the road and thinking when I grew up I would do the same. But nowadays with everyone having a cell phone with them, I found most people don’t want help anymore and just want to wait for the...

    Leaf springs worn out?

When I got my GMT400 this spring the rear leaf springs were so wore out the drivers side would ride on the bump stop with a full tank of fuel, and the passenger side was almost. I replaced the factory 3 leaf packs with new 5 leaf packs and put new Bilstein 4600’s on all four corners, replaced a...

    Roadside Repair Kit?

I live up in Canada and use my GMT400 for hunting, fishing and getting firewood mostly. I keep a few tools in my tool box under the hood, a tire plug kit, air compressor, tire chains, jerrycan of gas, a hi-lift jack, tow rope, booster cables or booster box depending on where I’m going, insulated...

    Blue Trucks Only Thread

Thanks I am on the fence if I will keep the fiberglass skirting or not after I weld in some new panels that are getting rust and repaint it. One thing for sure is I will keep it indigo blue. I do like the way your truck used to look, but I think I like it better the way you have it now.

    Blue Trucks Only Thread

I take it you live in the south, for the winter at least. Ya that snow and the salted roads are hard on body panels, but that’s just part of Canadian driving.
