LS PCM Mount in a TBI Truck?

Fair point, I figured the casing would line up, but I wanted to be sure. I checked a picture of my transmission the last time it was out, and it does have the 27 spline shaft. Also true, but I specified 88-94 because 1995 trucks have a bracket that holds the larger four-wheel abs controller...

LS PCM Mount in a TBI Truck?

Hey all. I've been toying around with the idea of swapping an LM7 5.3 into my truck, but I'd like to have everything planned out before I go and buy everything. So where is everyone mounting their PCM's in their LS swapped 88-94 truck? In an ideal world, since I plan on sticking with the stock...

    backlit dash switches?

On the 88-94 interiors, the only interior controls that are backlit are the gauge cluster and radio controls. The HVAC controls are backlit if the truck has air conditioning and the buttons. If you have the manual (non-AC) levers for the HVAC, then it won't be lit up. Everything else on an '88...

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

Update: New PCM installed, PROM swapped, absolutely nothing changed. Still shifts crazy hard 1-2. I may try testing the EPC solenoid itself next, if it's not that then it must be something deeper in the transmission.

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

Not sure of the part number, the inside spring was green and the outside spring was black. I didn't touch anything else, and I'm not familiar enough with transmissions to tell you about the servo pin.

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

I just wanted to update the thread with some more information I've found. Inside the transmission is an EPC solenoid. From what I've read, it controls the line pressure for the whole transmission. The PCM controls the amperage for this solenoid, as the amperage gets lower, the line pressure...

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

Right, when you drop the accumulator housing, the Sonnax piston is on top, underneath that is the two springs, then the ball bearing from the Sonnax kit sits in the hole where the pin would go. So the piston is pressed up against the transmission body. (separator plate I think it's called?)

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

Interesting, I had no idea that these early 4L60E's had adaptive shift patterns. I don't think the adaptations have ever been changed through the 4 different transmissions this truck has had through its life. That might actually help. Unfortunately I don't even know where to start on OBD1...

    Vicious 1-2 Shift on 4L60E.

Hey all, I've got an extremely rough 1-2 shift on my 4L60E and it's making the truck nearly undriveable. The truck is the GMT400 in my sig, it is a 1994 GMC Sierra K1500 with the original TBI 350 and a reman 4L60E. The only code I have is for the EGR valve. The EGR valve hose is disconnected...

    Reel light location

My neighbor has a well equipped, all-original 1996 RCSB C1500 that has that reel light in that same spot on the firewall. I've seen a few Vortecs in the junk yard that have lights on the firewall, but not nearly as often as I do on TBI trucks.

Can you bleed RWABS with the truck in the air?

Tomorrow I'll mess with it and see if that really is a bleeder or if it's like what Supercharged111 said. Point taken on the lift bleeding, I doubt it'll hurt anything, but if something goes wrong then I'll screw up not just my truck, but also my lift that's bolted into the concrete. Maybe not...

Can you bleed RWABS with the truck in the air?

I went out to my truck and looked at everything. On the diagram above, part #3 has a rubber cap at the front of it. Under it is something that looks like a bleeder valve; but I'm not sure if you can bleed the ABS that way. Everywhere I see on this forum, people say that you have to use a scanner...

Can you bleed RWABS with the truck in the air?

I was brainstorming how to bleed my new RWABS module on my '94 K1500 w/ JB5's. Of course I could use a scanner, but those are expensive and I don't know anyone nearby who has one; and I could use a gravel road to get my brakes to lock up, but I'd really like to not tear up my brand new tires; so...

    93 k1500 - Wire “A” 25 Gen?

Could it be the alternator warning light? Often alternators are referred to as "gen"erators, so maybe that's what it is.

How to tell if engine is roller ready?

Good to know. When this engine comes out, I'd like to rebuild it and make it quite the runner, that's why I'm trying to go with a roller setup. I'd also like to keep the original block if I can, so it's nice to know that I should be able to convert it to a roller block pretty easily. Also some...
