I bought a 88 chevy stepside silverado a few months ago and it has a crate motor in it. I've looked for stampings on the passenger side of the motor to see if it is a 350 and all I can find is a bar code sticker with some numberes on it. Anyone have an idea where to look to see what the numbers...

It is on the right side of the dash, behind the glovebox. It has 2 plugs going to it with lots of wires. Does it have anything to do with the HVAC? I don't have a svc manual yet, so don't have an electrical schematic for the truck. Could it be a factory amplifier? doesn't have any labels on it...

New member here. Just bought a 88 c1500 silverado stepside. Will post pics soon. Doing some under dash electrical work and wondered what the square unit behind the glovebox is? Looks like some kind of amp, but can't find any info about it. Donj
